I was prepared not to like this tool, as it is very expensive. I remember it being $99, at one time, and waited years to see if it had come down. But the price increased by $30. The blades not only are made of stout metal, but look to be serrated. I expected to have to file down the tangs so it would bite better, but the way this is constructed, there was no need. Tried it today for the first time. I have the concrete doughnuts around my irrigation heads, and it fit nicely over the heads with the doughnuts nicely. There is a "limiter" welded to attach the circular shaped tangs (blades, really), meaning that the tool stops when it touches the top of the concrete doughnut. I found my best technique was to cut the in-grown grass in both a clockwise and then a counter-clockwise direction to get the cleanest cut.I was using yard scissors to clean around the heads, and alternately, a weed-whacker, but the weed-whacker scooped out around the heads and didn't look good, so this is the best solution to date. It came well-packed from Amazon to my doorstep.
